Founder José Candia first arrived in California in 1968 as an international student to attend the University of the Pacific in Stockton. He later earned his BBA from Baylor University and a Master’s in Global Management (MIM) from the prestigious Thunderbird School of Global Management in Arizona.
In 1974, José returned to his native Bolivia, where he built a successful career in marketing and manufacturing. But his dream of returning to California to start his own business never faded.
In 2003, José and his wife Evelyn (married since 1978) turned that dream into a reality, opening a retail store in San Jose, in the heart of Silicon Valley. Their vision: to showcase the rich natural stones of the Andes and launch Evelyn’s line of kitchen decor.
